Packaging Design - Billy’s Brew
Billy’s Brew is a fictitious brewery located in Noosa, along Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Their vision is for people to enjoy a fresh, cold bottle of their Endless Summer IPA (India Pale Ale) whilst relaxing by the beach, soaking in the sunshine and admiring the stunning Noosa scenery.
My design for their Endless Summer beverage is a fun and quirky take on the vision behind Billy’s Brew, and I really aimed to capture the essence and spirit of relaxing by the beach in the summer. Almost reminiscent of a planet in the background where summer happens all year round, my design is bright, fresh and energetic.
Above are some of my initial design sketches, where I started exploring some potential compositions. From the very start you can see that I was pretty set on creating a spherical label, and that I really wanted the name of the IPA as the focal point of the design.
Finally, here are the final label designs for this project. I was requested by the client to create a unique die-cut shape and also specify an embellishment to be used when printing. I opted to cover the words ‘Endless Summer’ with a copper-coloured foil to really make the design stand out. Overall, I greatly enjoyed this project!
